Adjustable Iris Aperture for PVS‑14 Style Night Vision Lenses

Enhance the performance of your night vision device with this adjustable iris aperture designed for optics using standard PVS‑14 style objective lenses. This simple yet highly effective accessory allows you to control the amount of light entering your night vision system, helping improve image sharpness and reduce overexposure in brighter environments.

Built for versatility, this iris attachment is compatible with both monocular and binocular night vision systems that use PVS‑14 pattern objective lenses, making it a valuable upgrade for builders, professionals, and night vision enthusiasts.

Key Features

Precise Light Control
The adjustable iris diaphragm lets you fine‑tune the aperture opening, reducing excess light and improving image quality when operating in mixed or brighter lighting conditions.

Improved Image Clarity
By narrowing the aperture, the iris increases depth of field, allowing more of the image to remain in focus simultaneously.

Reduces Bloom & Overexposure
Helps minimize blooming and halo effects caused by bright lights such as street lamps, vehicle headlights, or moonlight.

So far so good. I really like how the iris just threads into the inside of the objective lens focus ring. It makes for a very clean look. Iris adjustment is very smooth and will adjust without changing the objective focus. It’s nice to be able to increase depth of field a little if lighting conditions allow. I will say, at certain angles you may get a slight glare when encountering any kind of light brighter light source but it’s not bad. I haven’t had too many chances to test the actual durability of the iris and honestly I hope I don’t get to...I’d rather not drop my nods or take a ricochet to the objective lens. Overall I’m pretty happy with it.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed and honest review. I really appreciate you sharing your experience with the iris.

I’m glad you like the way it threads directly into the objective focus ring and keeps everything looking clean. Being able to adjust the iris independently without changing your objective focus is exactly what we were going for, especially when you want a little more depth of field in the right lighting conditions.

I also really appreciate you mentioning the slight glare you can get from certain angles. That’s the kind of real-world feedback that’s actually useful, and I’ll definitely keep it in mind as we continue improving the design.

And I completely agree with you on the durability testing — hopefully you never have to find out how tough it is! 😂 I’d much rather see you enjoy your NODs without putting them through a drop test or taking a ricochet to the objective.

Thanks again for giving it a try and for the thoughtful feedback. I’m really glad you’re happy with it!
